HP 24mh FHD Monitor review

If you are hunting for the best gaming monitor that does not burn your pockets but also provides excellent performance, then HP 24mh Full HD monitor is the right device you should consider buying. HP monitors are highly preferred for office use, but that doesn’t mean HP monitors are great for gaming.

They are equally suitable for FPS gaming like any other gaming monitor on the market. This monitor has a 23.8-inch wide horizontal screen display that produces stunning picture quality with its advanced IPS technology. The IPS technology gives a smooth 178-degree ultra-wide-angle viewing experience to the users without degrading the color details. You can view the monitor from any angle in bright, vibrant colors.

The connectivity options are convenient for console gaming and other functions, and you can easily hook up a laptop or smartphone and continue with your activity. The ultra-slim display and sturdy, slim adjustable stand make extra room on the desk where you place other components compatible with your monitor.

HP 24MH FHD monitor REVIEW

IMAGE QUALITY

The HP 24mh loads a 24-inch In-phase Switching(IPS) screen, an ideal screen size to multi-task, enjoy gaming, and is also suitable for professional work. The resolution you get with this segment is 1920 x 1080p FHD resolution that provides a pixel density of 93 pixels-per-inch(PPI). With this pixel density, you can do many tasks on the monitor, but photo or editing would not be very efficient.

The good thing is you get a panoramic vision when you sit in the center, all thanks to the IPS technology that offers 178° wide-angle viewing from practically any sitting position. No matter in which direction you are facing, the monitor will show accurate colors and perfect picture clarity without losing pixel consistency.

HP 24mh FHD Monitor review

At 75Hz, you will get an amazing 1080p resolution that accounts for the highest picture accuracy and broad viewing spectrum. The 3sided micro-edge display adds up to wide-angle viewing and visual detailing. The screen is so wide that you can get a kick out of FPS games and HDR content watching.

The color tone of the screen adjusts automatically when you turn on Low Blue Light Mode smoothly shifts harmful blue lights to a much warmer tone that will help prevent eye fatigue and also make colors look realistic on the screen.

PERFORMANCE

If you are a serious gamer and expect more from your gaming monitor, then let me tell you that the HP 24mh FHD monitor can be a disappointment for you. You can manage to play some games, but when it comes to 4K gaming or FPS gaming, you will not get the highest accuracy that any other gaming monitor.

With this monitor, you will get a 5ms GtG response time which is considered good for fast-paced games. With such a pixel response time, there is no noticeable lag in fast-moving objects. Usually, for an ultra-smooth gaming experience, the monitor must have a higher refresh rate, such as 144Hz or more, but this monitor can only offer you a 75Hz refresh rate that wouldn’t be enough to reject huge input lags. The input lag in this particular model is measured to be ~10ms which means that you won’t feel any lags in between the action.

Unfortunately, this monitor does not have Adaptive-Sync support which leaves you with only Variable Refresh Rate(VRR), which alone will not be able to provide the precision and ideal fluidity that’s required in high-end gaming. But if you have a compatible G-Sync or AMD FreeSync graphics card, you can enjoy immersive gaming without screen tearing or shuttering. The VRR will sync with the monitor’s refresh rate and get rid of any possible screen freezing or pixel shuttering.

There’s one thing you must know about VRR in this is that it has a limited range that varies from 48 to 75Hz if the frame per second goes below 48FPS or above 75FPS, the VRR will not function at all. The built-in 2W speakers are integrated into this monitor so you can enjoy gaming or content viewing in the best audio quality. The 24mh FHD is a decent monitor when it comes to gaming performance.

FEATURES

The flat IPS Panel technology of this monitor is dedicated to providing true colors and various viewing angles that will help you view any content or play any game while sitting at any angle away from the monitor. So it’s Ultra-wide 178 degrees wide viewing angle, this monitor is perfect for multi-player games.

The best thing is you can rotate this sleek monitor across 178 degrees vertical or 178 degrees horizontal without losing the perfect and bright view on the screen. You will get a superior panorama effect in every mode.

Low Blue Light Mode is included in the HP 24mh FHD monitor that identifies the light situation in your surrounding and accordingly shifts the light intensity to either warmer or cooler spectrum so that you can view the whites in more natural colors and blacks in more brightness while giving you a comfortable eye viewing without causing eye strain or headache. With the Low Blue Light technology, all the harmful blue lights emitted from the screen are reduced to prevent eye fatigue.

Black Stretch is a unique feature provided in this HP model that is an add-on from the standard display tools control. With this adaptive black stretch technology, you can easily see blacks in much brightness when enabled.

What this setting does is increase the visibility of the subjects shot in black areas without overexposing the already bright areas. This feature internally controls the gamma level illumination map and suitably adjusts the display resulting in clear and vibrant images.

The HP 24mh FHD monitor has an Anti-Glare Coating that reflects light and lets you see in the bright surroundings such as under a lamp, near open windows, or even outdoors. You will be able to see everything on the screen with maximum visibility without a noticeable reflection. You can also make use of the tilt stand to adjust the display level to an angle where maximum visibility is observed.

Design and Connectivity

The HP 24mh FHD monitor has an ultraslim display that is remarkably perfect for wide-angle viewing. The 23.8” screen size is ideal for gaming, photo editing, and many other tasks. This FHD monitor has a flat IPS that makes wide-angle viewing very easy and convenient. You will get an amazing view up to 178 degrees without color degradation or fading when viewed from a different sitting angle. You will see the exact visual in the 178°circumference.

The entire setup weighs almost 4.5kgs, which is quite convenient to travel with or can place even on small desk space. The best thing is this monitor offers you great ergonomic adjustability. You can swivel this monitor to 360° and can enjoy your gaming or movie binge either in landscape or portrait mode. The stand has a tilting capacity of 100 mm, so you can adjust the height or depth for maximum viewing comfort.

The superficial 3-sided micro-edge bezels and 1 thick bezel at the bottom make this monitor look outstanding. The bottom bezel has a white accent on it, along with the logo that adds an extra lure to this gaming monitor.

Connectivity ports on the monitor are plenty. It has 1 DisplayPort 1.2 with HDCP support, 1 HDMI 1.4 with HDCP support, 1 VGA port, and 3.5mm Audio Jack. DisplayPort and USB-C ports are made available in almost all modern gaming monitors, but for ease, this monitor is also providing 1 VGA port so that you can also connect to older laptops, mobiles, or any older device that lack HDMI support.

The 24mH FHD monitor gets a little expensive because it includes a DisplayPort connector so that you can enjoy 4K videos or games at a 144Hz refresh rate without any input lag interference. All of these ports are faced downwards on the rear so that you can have easy access to them.
