IMAGE QUALITY

LG 27GL83A-B comes with sharp image clarification and vivid visuals. As it is an IPS monitor, the contrasting ratios can vary. The backlight on display is matched with local dimming.

The monitor has excellent SDR, which makes the picture look bright. The glare coming from the images can be seen precisely even in a dark room. You can change the brightness according to your individual preferences.

LG 27GL83A-B supports HDR variations for which contents look bright. However, the whole cinematic experience cannot be received because HDR is not fully available. 

The horizontal angle of the monitor lets you see the images accurately. The images do not fade away even from the side rather they may sometimes appear darker from the vertical side, but it is quite appropriate.

The gradient handling of the images is excellent with normal content. They can be adjusted with static images and high contrast. The monitor can handle reflection, and the matte finish diffuses the low intensity.

While we tested we noticed minor vertical color bleeds that are not much noticeable in all the contents. However, in real content, they are not seen at all. There is no temporary retention of images because high static images can stay constant for about 10minutes.

Performance

The 27-inch screen and the 1440p resolution are great for multitasking and deliver a more detailed gaming experience than 1080p displays.

In terms of response time, the less is always better. That said, LG 27GL83A-B is considered one of the fastest IPS panel monitors because it comes with a response time of 1ms. However, to get the specified 1ms speed, you must change the settings option to faster in the OSD menu of the monitor.

With 2k resolution, this gaming monitor delivers phenomenal picture quality and gaming performances. Its 144Hz refresh rate and 1 ms response time allow you to play very demanding games without lag. Its G-Sync and Free-Sync technology also promises you a tearing and stuttering-free gaming session.
